Due to weather, Skate Jam! has been moved indoors to Talent Skatepark. Other Jazz Fest events will continue outdoors as planned.
How it works This is an open jam: no competition, no brackets, no sign-ups. Show up, skate, listen. Boards and blades of all kinds are welcome.
Do I need to bring my own gear? Yes. Bring your own board, helmet, and any pads you'd like.
Is it all ages? Yes. Younger skaters are welcome with a parent or guardian present.
This event pairs live jazz from MacArthur Fellow Jason Moran and his trio The Bandwagon with a slate of national and local skating icons.
Headlining the skating roster is Ron Allen — the first Black professional sponsored skateboarder and a 2024 inductee to the Skateboarding Hall of Fame. Joining him in a "double duty" role is Chuck Treece, the iconic multi-instrumentalist and skater who will both skate the park and play guitar at the event.
The lineup also heavily features Vermont's own skating community, presented in close partnership with local staple Talent Skatepark. Featured local skaters taking the concrete include Christian Martin, Justice Hedenberg, Noah Healy, and Matt Lawrence.
